Michigan is back in the AP Top 25 men’s basketball poll after a strong week on the court.
The Wolverines reappeared in the weekly rankings on Monday at No. 24. It was no surprise given that they were just one spot outside the rankings last week and went 2-0 since.
On Jan. 27, they finished strong to beat Penn State 76-72 at Crisler Center. Michigan won at Rutgers on Saturday 66-63.
Michigan (16-5 overall, 8-2 Big Ten) hosts Oregon on Wednesday (6:30 p.m. ET, Big Ten Network) and visits Indiana on Saturday.
The Wolverines have been in and out of the Top 25 a few times this season. They debuted on Dec. 9 at No. 14, dropped 10 spots the next week, and fell out completely the next. They returned on Jan. 6 for a three-week stay (ranked between 20 and 24) before dropping out last week, falling just two points short in the voting.
The Michigan women’s basketball team was one spot outside of the Top 25 last week as well but went 1-1 this past week and stayed unranked in Monday’s poll. They’ll have a great shot to return if they can pull off a road sweep of Nebraska (Thursday) and Michigan State (Sunday) this week.
