He was only 18 when hitting the headlines after Frankie Dettori wrongly labelled him a “disgrace” for his tactics in the 2021 Long Distance Cup at Ascot, but that didn’t affect Dylan Browne McMonagle one iota.
Here was the most recognised jockey in the world taking a pop at him after his high-profile mount Stradivarius was forced to go five wide to make his challenge when Browne McMonagle rightly held his ground on Baron Samedi, but there was no emotional reaction from the Donegal pilot.
