A 3-pointer, two steals that turned into layups and an alley-oop for another basket all added up to Franklin’s Caden Sullivan scoring 9 points in 3 minutes.
Selection Saturday is here for the MIAA basketball state tournament. All 10 boys and girls brackets are out. The top 32 power ranked teams automatically qualified along with every other team above .500.
Most games will begin Monday, unless both athletic directors agree to play Sunday.
Franklin retained the top seed in the Division 1 boys bracket despite a late loss to Xaverian Brothers, and the Hopedale girls are the top seed in Division 5.
Franklin reached the Division 1 state final last season. Both Medway (Division 3) and Millis (Division 4) were Final Four teams a year ago.
There is one double local matchup in the Division 1 girls opening round: No. 17 Lincoln-Sudbury at No. 16 Hopkinton. Bay State rivals No. 6 Natick and No. 11 Framingham could meet in the second round of that same bracket if they both win their opening round games.
