Country Memories Day: Celebrate 37 years of the community event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, which features more than 100 vendors. Enjoy food trucks,
entertainment on the Square,
demonstrations, shopping, a car show and more.
Memorial Day Parade: Stepping off at 10 a.m., the parade precedes a ceremony by the VFW at Westminster Cemetery at 11 a.m. in Mifflintown.
Memorial Day on the Juniata River: Spend your holiday on the Juniata River from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday by launching at Mifflintown, Mifflin, Muskrat Springs, Thompsontown, Greenwood or Buttonwood Campground. Race to Breakfast: Enjoy a delicious breakfast to support Varner Motorsports/Braeden Varner Racing from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday at port Royal Lutheran Church, 402 Market St., Port Royal. Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, cream dried beef, French toast casserole, baked oatmeal, bacon, sausage, toast, coffee, milk and juice. Cost is $10 for adults, $7 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for children 4 and under. Chili or chicken corn soup is also available for takeout at $7 per quart.
Drive-thru turkey dinner: Christ’s United Lutheran Four Bells Church, 13765 Old Turnpike Road, Millmont, holding drive-thru turkey dinner on Saturday, starting at 3:30 p.m. until sold out. Sporting it up
Run to Remember 5K: Dream Center of Mifflin County and Juniata Valley YMCA team up for 5K walk/run on Saturday. Registration is at 7:30 a.m. on the corner of First Avenue in Burnham with a 9 a.m. starting time for the run. The walk follows at 10 a.m. The entry fee is $30. Wings of Support 3v3 Tournament: Set for Saturday at Juniata Valley YMCA, 105 First Ave., Burnham, from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m., doors open at 8:15 a.m. and age range is 16-plus for anyone participating. Registration fee is $50. Teams can register at www.hoopin4acause.com. Proceeds benefit Mifflin County Prevention organization.
Port Royal Speedway Weikert Memorial Cornhole Tournament: Bring your own partner cornhole tournament, located at 308 W. Eighth St., Port Royal, during the Weikert Memorial Weekend on Saturday at the Juniata County Fairgrounds. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., with the tournament to follow at 11 a.m. Event is rain or shine as it’s inside the Commercial Building. Cost is $40 per team of two. Belleville Mennonite School 59th Annual Auction
The annual two-day event has the following schedule at the school, located at 4105 Front Mountain Road, Belleville: Friday features a ham ball dinner from 4 to 6 p.m., children’s auction at 6 p.m. and gift certificate auction at 6:30 p.m.; and Saturday highlights include: breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m., merchandise auction at 9 a.m., special feature certificates at 11 a.m., outdoor features at 11:30 a.m., food, drinks and baked goods, handmade quilts and children’s activities.
