Each and every day of the racing year, we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what a NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
So impressive when winning at Punchestown even though he jumped left, GAUCHER was too keen at Galway last time when also jumping left. He can rebound at this more suitable track. Le Coq Hardi can follow him home.
COMO PARK produced a good effort to win at Bellewstown (beating Mister Beeton) but below expectations on Flat since at Killarney as 4/5 fav’; 7lb higher in this sphere now so will have to pull out more.
Gordon Elliott runs five in his bid to win this for the first time since 2017, while Willie Mullins, out of luck here since 2020, relies solely on Horantzau D’Airy. Cheltenham Festival winners The Real Whacker and Flooring Porter make plenty of appeal, but Elliott may have the solution with ZANAHIYR, third in the Galway Plate and capable of reversing form with runner-up Duffle Coat. Perceval Legallois flopped in the Plate but still deserves respect.
24-rated hurdler BLOOMFIELD BIJOU showed good form in spring 2023, winning a Ballinrobe maiden hurdle and Punchestown festival handicap. She ran only four times last season, failing to improve after finishing second in a four-runner novice hurdle at this fixture, but led from early and jumped well when winning on her chase debut at Wexford in July.
