This looks even weaker than the first division. Francis Drake is given a chance on his debut effort while Dios De La Guerra could be frame material if taking another step forward, but LUNANOVA showed enough when third on her debut here in December to suggest that a race like this was within her reach. Newcomer Monty Beau wouldn’t need to be anything special to make an impact.

EVENWOOD SONOFAGUN got off the mark at the 24th attempt over hurdles at Musselburgh (3m, good to soft) last month; up 3lb and cannot be left out of calculations but needs to prove he can back up that winning performance.

Dual course winner Mr Baloo scored at Southwell 11 days ago and remains feasibly treated, but slight preference is for the unexposed 4yo PATCHS BOND, who went very close on his handicap debut at Lingfield and is open to more progress on this drop back in trip. Most of the others have something to prove but More Than A Feelin had an excuse in a tactical race over C&D last time and has possibilities if this sets up for her closing style.

BUXTED TOO got back in the groove with a smooth win over C&D three weeks ago; up 3lb but that latest form has been boosted by the third since, and he’s a big player again if he can back that up.
