Each and every day of the racing year, we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what an NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
Back down in distance on only her second handicap attempt, GHAIHABAN could well show progress and reverse Southwell placings with Moonspirit who warrants respect all the same. Useful Cloud Cover is the class angle, while Liv My Life has possibilities on the back of an emphatic win, and Red Maids isn’t ruled out.
This looks good for NOCTE VOLATUS, who got his career back on track with two wins last year and ran well in defeat behind a subsequent major handicap winner at Ascot last time. The last-time-out winners Grandads Cottage and Numitor ought to run well again but both may be a shade vulnerable off their current marks, and the main threat to the selection may come from Irish raider Railway Hurricane.
Not far off the best of these over hurdles, JOHN THE DIVA made a competent chasing and seasonal debut at Tramore and can collect now. Mighty Oak Lad has useful handicap experience and merits respect. Jay Pee M and Glady Max have claims on point-to-point running. A market check is advised regarding chasing newcomer On Your Way.
A mouth-watering clash. While Salver and Iberico Lord remain fascinating propositions over this trip, slight preference is for the proven stamina of reliable in-form candidates NEMEAN LION and Blueking d’Oroux. The winter months are once again looking pretty bleak for form pick Langer Dan who finished well adrift at Cheltenham 16 days ago, a race in which Salver was in contention when falling at the last.
