Each and every day of the racing year, we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what an NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
Bedouin Prince looks the part on paper and Charlie Appleby’s 2yo runners on AW are always worthy of serious consideration. He can go well, but Family Knight and, especially, DISSIDENT can leave their encouraging debut runs behind them. The selection was pitched into a useful race on debut but was too green to do himself justice. This half-brother to Arc heroine Bluestocking can prove a different proposition today.
A cracking handicap that wouldn’t look out of place at a more glamorous meeting than this. Heathcliff, 2-2 over C&D and progressing at a rate of knots, is sure to be popular and there looks to be plenty of mileage in his mark. Cuban Tiger has some strong AW form and can step forward again back on this surface, while Mirsky (second choice) continues to leave the impression a good race is within his grasp. BREWING has been quiet in two turf runs this autumn, but his AW record stands up to close inspection, and he looked good over C&D in January on his last start on an artificial surface.
Evan Williams could hold the key as CURRENT MOOD (nap) was good value for her narrow success at Ludlow, while Honey I’m Good will appreciate this return to further, after finding 2m 5f too sharp a test around Fakenham last week.
This looks a golden opportunity for TAWAJJAH, who sets a clear standard in second behind a smart prospect at Southwell last month and is open to more progress on this step up in trip. The clear pick of the other four runners is Star Of Jupiter, who wasn’t beaten far on his Yarmouth debut in September, and looks a likely improver on his second start
