Each and every day of the racing year, we bring you a bumper NAPS Table to give you the inside scoop on all the plays you’ll need that day.
Don’t know what an NAPs Table is? We’ll tell you! It’s an independently run competition involving the cream of the British and Irish racing press whose positions in the table are based on their profits to Level Stakes. And just like all sports competitions worldwide, those doing best are towards the top of the table.
So, we decided to put that golden guide to the test and use it to steer you towards what could be a savvy Lucky 15 (4 horses, 15 bets) today. The four you’ll see below are the selections of some of the top-performing tipsters in the Table. Let’s get to the picks…
With his Grade 2 effort probably best forgiven, KINGSTON PRIDE gets the vote back down in class. As regards the other main form contenders, J J Moon (second choice) and Jus De Citron are respected more than riskier runners Juventus De Brion and Slipway.
A reluctance to settle is not helping BIG GINGE, but he’s performed to a useful level, and this looks winnable with his form. Laganhill carries a penalty, but he repelled talented horses at Haydock, despite him lacking their experience. Malinificent is third best.
The eyecatcher is three-time course winner FLEGMATIK (nap), who looks very attractively handicapped, returning to Kempton for the first time this season. El Rio, who posted a solid effort over C&D last time, is second choice narrowly ahead of Lounge Lizard who is interesting switched to this venue. A few others also have possibilities.
Quite a lot went wrong for Ignition at Wolverhampton last week and his division of the 8.6f handicap was run quicker than BACKER BILK’s half an hour earlier. He might not be open to quite as much improvement as the Best-trained runner though and the market support for the selection on his handicap debut was notable. Of the remainder, a marked step forward could be forthcoming from Emily Rebecca now upped in trip for her handicap debut.
