Leicester are hopeful of completing a deal for forward Bilal El Khannouss from Genk.
The Foxes are getting closer to bringing in the Morocco international, for a reported fee of £21m, with boss Steve Cooper looking to add attacking options before Friday’s transfer deadline.
The 20-year-old, who was born in Belgium, has made 90 appearances for Genk and won the Belgian Pro League’s Young Player of the Season in 2023-24.
Leicester host Aston Villa in the Premier League on Saturday after one point from their opening two games.
Cooper holds his press conference at Seagrave on Thursday afternoon and is sure to be asked about his latest, impending addition.
The deadline is likely to dominate discussions while Cooper is also expected to be asked about Marc Albrighton’s retirement, even though he was not a player of his at the Foxes.
The futures of Tom Cannon and Boubakary Soumare – both linked with moves – are also going to be on the agenda.
