The transfer market remains closed until January but clubs are still extremely busy behind the scenes as they plan for future arrivals. Players all around the world have returned to their clubs after the international break for a pivotal period of the season, both domestically and in European competition.
Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals in the upcoming market. A plethora of players will be unhappy with their lack of minutes with their agents aiming to secure them a move to ensure first-team football for the second half of the season. The rumour mill is beginning to pick up pace and we’ve collated some of the biggest current transfer stories.
Paris St-Germain are reportedly in talks with Mohamed Salah over a free transfer when the 32-year-old’s Liverpool contract expires at the end of the season. No player has more goal contributions than Salah in the Premier League so far this season.
Reports suggest a number of Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea are monitoring Borussia Dortmund’s 20-year-old England Under-21 forward Jamie Gittens, who scored against Bayern Munich on Saturday.
Manchester United, Tottenham, and Barcelona reportedly sent scouts to watch 25-year-old Egypt striker Omar Marmoush play for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday. Marmoush already has 11 goals this season.
Reports suggest Italian giants Juventus are considering a move for Ipswich’s Liam Delap and have sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old English striker, who is also attracting interest from Chelsea and Manchester United. He signed for the Tractor Boys from Manchester City for €17.85m in the summer.
