MANHATTAN — Kansas State women’s basketball got off to a good start in replacing what will be multiple key roster openings next season by adding three highly regarded Class of 2025 guards on the first day of the fall signing period.
ESPN.com has ranked the Wildcats’ class No. 6 nationally so far after they signed 6-foot-1 sharpshooter Jordan Speiser from Warrenton, Missouri; 5-11 wing Aniya Foy from Katy, Texas; and 5-9 point guard Gina Garcia Safont from Barcelona, Spain.
Speiser, a five-star prospect, is the top-rated player in Missouri and No. 10 overall in her class by ESPNHoopGurlz, which calls her one of the nation’s best shooters. ProspectsNation has her at No. 14 nationally after a red-hot summer season.
She helped lead her Lutheran of St. Charles County High School team to a state title in 2023 and a runner-up finish last season.
“Speiser is one of the most dynamic scorers in the country with unlimited range and ability to shoot the 3-ball,” K-State coach Jeff Mittie said. “Her work ethic and passion for the game was evident throughout the recruiting process.”
Foy is a prolific scorer as well, averaging 23.9 points and 8.6 rebounds last year for Cinco Ranch High School while scoring at a 26.1-point clip with 7.4 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 2.2 assists through nine games this season.
“Foy is one of the elite athletes in the country and has a smooth pull-up jumper and an explosive first step off the bounce,” Mittie said.
Garcia Safont has significant international experience with Spain’s U18 and U17 teams and plays for Segle XXI Barcelona, the same club that produced current Wildcat forward Gisela Sanchez.
“Garcia Safont is one of the top international point guards in the 2025 class,” Mittie said. “She possesses excellent vision, elite passing skills and range on her 3-point shot.”
K-State will lose at least four senior starters — Ayoka Lee, Serena Sundell, Jaelyn Glenn and Temira Poindexter — from this year’s team, which is currently ranked No. 10 in the USA Today Sports Coaches Poll.
