India vs Pakistan Live Score, Champions Trophy 2025: Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer have flattened Pakistan
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Virat Kohli celebrated 14000 runs in ODI cricket by registering a half-century to shepherd India’s chase of 242 against Pakistan in Dubai. Kohli became the fastest Indian batter to reach the milestone, going past the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, when he cover-drove Haris Rauf in his trademark style. More importantly, Kohli and Shreyas Iyer have put on a 50-plus partnership to ensure India didn’t stumble after Shubman Gill’s dismissal.…Read More
Gill’s carnage was ended by Abrar Ahmed, who produced a ball that pitched on middle-leg and crashed onto the top of the off stump. Gill’s assault on Shaheen Afridi wiped the happiness of Rohit Sharma’s wicket off the face of Pakistan bowlers. Pakistan had their moment. Gill hit the ball to Khushdil Shah at mid-wicket, but he made an absolute meal of it. Shaheen buried his face, while Haris Rauf held his head. Mohammad Rizwan couldn’t believe it either. India rolling along nicely with Gill after Rohit Sharma was out for 20.
Pakistan went through several ebbs and flow in the game to be bowled out for 241 inside 50 overs against India in Dubai. After losing two wickets in 10 overs, Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel added a century partnership. They struggled initially but got the job done, breaking the shackles timely. However, just when Pakistan seemed to be wrestling back control, the collective efforts of Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya derailed their progress. Had it not been for Khushdil Shah’s 39, even 200 looked tough for Pakistan. Kuldeep was the best Indian bowler on show, picking 3/40, and Hardik returning figures of 2/31 in 8 overs.
Virat Kohli completed the 157th catch of his ODI career, thus becoming India’s most successful catcher in the format. India gave nothing away since Kuldeep dismissed Salman Agha and Shaheen Afridi to be placed on a hat-trick. Axar, Hardik and Jadeja collectively chipped in to add to Pakistan’s woes as the defending champions lost Mohammad Rizwan, Saud Shakeel and Tayyab Tahir in a space of three overs. Harshit Rana dropped Rizwan on 44, letting go of a golden opportunity for India to break the partnership. But the Men in Blue didn’t need to wait longer though, as Axar cleaned up the Pakistan captain in the very next over.
After losing Babar Azam after a promising start and then Imam-ul-Haq to a fabulous direct hit from Axar, Pakistan desperately needed a partnership, and Rizwan and Shakeel provided exactly that. After a long period of being stuck, Rizwan and Shakeel found their flow, scoring a flurry of boundaries before India broke through. The Pakistan innings was gaining some serious steam, with Shakeel raising his 4th ODI half-century. Rizwan had also picked up pace, nearing a fifty of his own.
With time running out, Rizwan and Saud finally cut loose. After almost 50 balls without a boundary, Pakistan have hit four in three overs to get going in this partnership of 50-plus. This happened after the boundaries dried up, and dot balls increased. Rizwan had played almost 50 balls with a strike rate of 40.91 and Shakeel was not better. Their approach had left broadcasters and commentators baffled as India continue to speed through overs, tying down Pakistan’s run-rate.
Rohit Sharma had gone off the field briefly, and in his absence, Shubman Gill had taken over as India captain. And boy, what a job he did. It took Pakistan 32 balls to score their first boundary since the last one, a testament to how tight Axar and Hardik bowled. Earlier, India endured an injury scare when Mohammed Shami bowled just 2 overs before the India pacer complained of pain in his leg. After the physio took a good look at him, Shami completed the over but left the field to get some treatment. This was after he opened the proceedings for India with an 11-ball over, giving away 5 wides.

India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Iyer with back to back fours off Khushdil in the 30th over and then he smashes Salman Ali Agha’s third ball next over for a gigantic six. Rizwan was down on his haunches on seeing that. To make matters worse, Iyer was dropped at midwicket last ball of the 30th as well, the kind of catch that international level cricketers are expected to take.
Kohli is on 65 off 77 balls, Iyer on 34 off 42 balls.
India 168/2 in 31 overs
Feb 23, 2025 8:52 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Kohli welcomes Afridi by advancing down the track and chipping the first ball elegantly over mid-on for a four. Two singles off the third and fourth balls and then two twos off the last two. 10 runs in that over. Pakistan would’ve wanted their spearhead to take a wicket there, what has happened couldn’t be more different from that.
Kohli on 64 off 74, Iyer on 17 off 33.
Feb 23, 2025 8:49 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Well these two are just picking off singles whenever they want, Kohli in absolute control. None of that prodding and pricking outside off. This is a glimpse we are getting of the Virat Kohli that used to rule the world between around 2015 and 2019. Four runs comes off the 28th by Khushdil with no risk whatsoever.
Kohli on 55 off 69, Shreyas playing second fiddle very well, he is on 16 off 32.
India need 102 to win from 132 balls.
Feb 23, 2025 8:40 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: It doesn’t matter what form he is in, if it’s a match against Pakistan, Kohli shows up. Naseem continues in the 27th, on a length outside off first ball and Kohli plays it up and over the off side to beat deep cover to the boundary.
He moves to 51 off 62 with that shot.
Feb 23, 2025 8:37 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Rauf had bowled about four overs on the trot there and for all that effort, he has conceded 33 in his five thus far today for no wickets. The latter is not really his fault of course. Naseem returns and just two singles for the two batters in it.
Iyer on 11 off 23, Kohli on 46 off 60. India’s run rate is now starting to dip to less than 5 but that RRR remains lower.
Feb 23, 2025 8:28 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Iyer’s new and improved batting stance seems to have made the short ball a favourite of his now. Kohli taps the first ball past the bowler for a single. Dot balls after that the next three balls for Iyer and then he pulls the fifth one emphatically over midwicket for four.
Iyer moves to 10 off 18, Kohli on 44 off 53.
Feb 23, 2025 8:23 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: So far so good for Shreyas Iyer. He has moved to six off 13. Kohli at the other end on 43 off 52.
India need 124 to win from 168 balls and so there is absolutely no pressure on them to score quicker than they are at the moment. Rizwan has kept Abrar and Rauf on the batters for now, with the latter now set to return for his fifth over in the 23rd now.

India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: “Loha garam hai, maar do hathoda (the iron is hot, hit it with the hammer),” that’s how the famous dialogue goes from Sholay, and that is what Mohammad Rizwan intends to do here. The new batter is in, and moreover he is Shreyas Iyer, who has had his issues with the short ball in the past. So Rizwan brings his fastest bowler back into the attack.
Kohli is on strike though, he is on 32 off 39, Iyer has scored one run off the second ball he faced.
Feb 23, 2025 8:07 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Where in the world did that come from? He gets the third ball of the 18th to drift in to Gill, pitches on length, Gill shapes up for the flick but spins sharply away from him, cleanly past the bat and the stumps. Gill stands for a couple of seconds, utterly stunned; Kohli shakes his head in disbelief, Abrar folds his hand, looks to his right and slightly nods in the direction of the pavilion. Absolute cinema.
Gill b Abrar Ahmed 46 (52)
Feb 23, 2025 8:05 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: If Kohli and Gill are allowed to run, they will run you to the ground. For the moment, that is exactly what is happening. Rizwan needs to find ways to get wickets here, Khushdil Shah doesn’t really seem to be that. Kohli on 30 off 37, Gill on 46 off 50.
Meanwhile, worryingly for India, Gill seems to be in some discomfort with his left leg.
Feb 23, 2025 8:00 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: The spinners are on now. Abrar Ahmed bowling from one end and now Khushdil Shah replaces Rauf for the 15th. Just two runs off that over, single off the first ball for Gill and off the last for Kohli.
Gill is on 42 off 46, Kohli on 24 off 29. India are going at 5.93 runs an over, their required rate is 4.37. Very much in control.
Feb 23, 2025 7:54 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: And quite fittingly, he gets there with his beloved cover drive. He did it the previous ball as well but could only run two. This time he sends it past mid-off and cover for four. Single off the next ball and Gill flicks the fourth through midwicket to run three. Kohli then unfurls another cover drive last ball for another four.
Kohli on 23 off 24, Gill on 41 off 45.
Feb 23, 2025 7:43 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Well Haris Rauf came into that over in an angry mood and he walks away even angrier at the end of it. Kohli seemed to veto a pull shot while halfway through it third delivery, the ball takes the top edge of the bat and it falls short of deep third. Rauf gives Rizwan a mouthful about not having that fielder in. Then Khushdil drops a fairly straightforward catch at midwicket off the red-hot Gill next ball. Rauf mixed up his length throughout that over and deserved a wicket for his efforts.
Feb 23, 2025 7:39 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: India 178 to win from 240 balls. Haris Rauf to bowl the 11th over now and he is having a rather animated conversation with the umpire. Unclear what that is all about. Meanwhile Virat Kohli is nine runs away from getting to 14,000 ODI runs. He is on strike now. Kohli vs Rauf did provide one of the most dramatic T20 World Cup moments of all time three years ago…
Feb 23, 2025 7:34 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Afridi is staying full, he is being a little predictable and Shubman Gill is in too good a form to miss out on that. He unfurls two utterly spell-binding shots for four in that over. Kohli clips the first ball through square leg for two runs. The second goes down leg side for wide, Rizwan doesn’t gather and the batters run one as well. The third ball is on a good length, Gill drives it with a high elbow through covers for four, a shot that has to be framed and kept in a hall of fame of some kind. The next two balls are dots, then he comes down the track and drills the fifth right over Afridi’s head for another four. Another beauty, that. Then Gill whips the last ball square for a run, the batters run another thanks to overthrows.
Gill is on 35 off 34, Kohli on five off as many.
Feb 23, 2025 7:31 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Kohli plays the first ball to mid-on. He helps the second down the leg side and Abrar stops it from reaching the boundary, Kohli runs two to get off the mark. He takes a single fourth ball and that’s all the runs India get from it. Kohli on three off four, Gill on 25 off 29.
Feb 23, 2025 7:24 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Gill keeps strike throughout the over and he is looking absolutely invincible at the moment, even against a fire-breathing Afridi. Gill drives the first ball down the ground to run two. Then that short-arm pull shot that is increasingly becoming a signature of Gill’s helps him lift the second ball over midwicket for four. He leaves the third one outside off, Afridi overpitches on off fourth ball and Gill presents the full face of the bat to drive it straight down the ground gorgeously for four. A leading edge fifth ball but it eludes point for four more. Gill is then beaten off the last ball.
He is on 25 off 27, Kohli will now finally face his first ball of the match against Naseem.
Feb 23, 2025 7:23 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Gill absolutely pinned to the crease by Naseem throughout that over and he takes a single off the last ball. Which means he will keep strike and Kohli won’t be facing Afridi first up. He has moved to 11 off 21. One can expect India’s run rate to go down a bit but Pakistan shouldn’t be caring about limiting runs. They know what Kohli can do and Gill has won matches on his own a number of times in the recent past. Pakistan need a wicket, pronto.
Feb 23, 2025 7:15 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Oh a ripping inswinging yorker from hell by Shaheen right after Rohit slices him up and over covers for a four. That is just pure magic and that is what these Pakistani pacers can do when they have their tails up. When that tidal wave of momentum is going in their favour. And all that dials up to 10 when it’s against India. Afridi gets this to swing in late, Rohit jams his bat down but no way he could’ve kept this out.
Out walks Virat Kohli now.
Rohit Sharma b Shaheen Afridi 20 (15)
Feb 23, 2025 7:13 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Rohit smashes the fourth ball of that over from Naseem over mid-off for another four, his third boundary and he has faced just 11 so far. He has moved to 16 off 13, Gill on nine off 11. The highest chance Pakistan have of winning this match is getting big wickets early and preventing a high run rate. So far, they have failed at both but this is just the first four overs.
Feb 23, 2025 7:05 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: He top edges the third ball over slip for four and then brings out that majestic pull shot of his next ball for six. Naseem is ridiculously difficult to score off but Rohit made that look like child’s play.
Feb 23, 2025 7:04 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Afridi starts off with a booming yorker that Rohit somehow digs out. Then he goes wide outside off after which Rohit sends the second ball through square leg for a single. Another inswinging yorker this time to welcome Gill which is played to mid-on. Then Gill keeps an inswinger out, no runs for him in that over.
India 2/0 in 1 over
Feb 23, 2025 6:57 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Right, time for the Indian chase. It is not really a big target, is 242, but the slow nature of this pitch, coupled what the Pakistan bowlers can do on a good day, can make this a tricky chase. Shubman Gill is in as good a form as a batter can be but is Rohit Sharma fully fit? We will find out.
Feb 23, 2025 6:51 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Dinesh Karthik says on-air that he hopes Rohit is fit enough to run smoothly between the wickets. The former cricketer reveals Rohit had a ‘niggle’ while fielding in the first innings.

India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: We are set for the run-chase. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, fresh from the century against Bangladesh, open for the side. Shaheen Afridi to bowl the first over for Pakistan
Feb 23, 2025 6:40 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: India faced a similar chase in their previous match against Bangladesh, where they hunted down a target of 229. Rohit Sharma, true to his aggressive ODI instincts, blazed his way to 41, setting the tone for an emphatic start. Now, up against Pakistan’s formidable pace trio – Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf – will the Indian skipper stick to his fearless approach once again?
Feb 23, 2025 6:34 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav has always had a strong outing against Pakistan in the fifty-over format, and that didn’t change on Sunday. With three wickets to his name in nine overs, Kuldeep keeps his streak of at least a wicket in every ODI against Pakistan intact. He has 15 dismissals to his name in seven ODIs against the arch-rivals!
Feb 23, 2025 6:27 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Saud Shakeel’s dismissal is what started the process of Pakistan losing the platform he had built with Mohammad Rizwan. Here is a gist of what he told the host broadcasters: “I was taking a chance, but it was not a good time to get out. Earlier, the ball was not coming onto bat nicely. There was swing too. Pitch was slightly on the slower side. We have to take early wickets to put pressure on them.”
Feb 23, 2025 6:22 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Just incredible bowling there from Harshit Rana, Khushdil has no clue how to deal with those pace off deliveries of his. Finally, he holes out at deep midwicket and Rana gets the wicket he deserved. He finishes with figures of 1/30 in 7.4 overs
Feb 23, 2025 6:21 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: That was a quite a throw there from Axar Patel. Khushdil managed a six off the first ball of that over and then forced to take a single off the third. Then Rauff pulls it with nothing in the form of foot movement and the ball goes soaring over square leg fror a six. Rauf then tries to run two off the last ball, Axar with a gun throw from the deep and Rahul only has to direct the ball to the stumps.
Feb 23, 2025 6:14 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: A very smart 48th over there from Harshit Rana, making sure he doesn’t give Khushdil any pace to work with. Khushdil takes a single off the second last ball and Haris Rauf keeps out the last. Now Shami returns for the 49th over. India are still about a minute behind the over rate. Pakistan need sixes here.

India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Naseem just chips it up, Kohli takes a few strides in from long on and takes the catch. Kohli has now overtaken Mohammed Azharuddin for most catches by an Indian in ODIs.It was his 157th catch in the format. Kuldeep does get his third wicket after all and Pakistan are down to their last two wickets, 250 looking very far away at the moment.

India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: But where can Pakistan go from here? Naseem Shah got a deliberate edge on the third ball of the next over by Rana for four, making it six runs off that over and then six more runs off the next bowled by Kuldeep.
Shami to return to the attack now. Khushdil on strike on 23 off 24, Naseem at the other end on nine off 10.

India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: And Shaheen Afridi reviews an LBW call that has him plumb in front of his middle stump. Afridi had reviewed that straight away but replays show there was no bat. It goes on to hit top of middle. Kuldeep has already taken a hat-trick once in his ODI career. Can he get another one here?

India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Salman tries a big shot offside, it takes a leading edge and goes high up in the air. Jadeja runs to settle underneath it and he slides falls just as he catches it. He had taken a rough tumble and still manages to hold on. Of course he does, he is Jadeja.

India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Pakistan have lost half their side but they still have two very good batters out there. Khushdil particularly can really switch a gear on India here and Salman is also capable of hitting them big. Can they somehow push themselves past 250, even get close to 300 or more?

Feb 23, 2025 5:33 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Well it seems pretty clear that we won’t be seeing a long innings from Rohit Sharma today. He is holding his left hamstring again and again and just now, Khushdil Shah reverse swept Jadeja’s second ball of the 39th. Rohit tried to give chase but stopped dead in is tracks with a hand on that left hamstring. Iyer chased it down and did well to stop it at the boundary. Seven runs in that over, Khushdil on seven off 10. Salman Ali Agha at the other end on 10 off 13.

Feb 23, 2025 5:25 PM IST
India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Three wickets in four overs after none in more than 21. Are Pakistan being totally pushed off the platform they established for themselves here? This was an absolutely beauty from Jadeja first ball of the 387th, it landed on a length and turned away ever so slightly, Tahir was leg side of the ball and misses his push leg side completely.

India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: You don’t really see Pandya celebrating his wickets nowadays but he is roaring away here. Shakeel goes for the big one, he ends up holing out at midwicket. Pakistan could’ve used having one of these two set batters in the last 10 overs. It was short and outside off, Shakeel tries to pull but can’t clear the field.

India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: The return of Pandya did bring a wicket but at the other end! The end of a 104-run stand through the wicket of captain Rizwan. Rizwan has been coming forward spinners time and again today. Axar fires the second ball full, Rizwan advances and ends up yorking himself. Completely misses his slog and the ball hits the stumps. Rizwan had been dropped off the last ball by Harshit Rana, albeit it was a difficult chance.

India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Hardik Pandya to bowl the 33rd over now. He has the best economy today among the Indian bowlers and got the all-important wicket of Babar Azam. Pandya was the one who began this squeeze that Rizwan and Shakeel just broke out of, can he now end this stand?

India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: So the batters are now getting some refreshments and we can see Shreyas Iyer also getting some treatment in the meantime. It is a hot day out there and there is a chance that India might be starting to feel it a little bit metaphorically as well. It has been 21 overs since Imam went for a run that was never there. They didn’t get any middle overs in the last match as well against Bangladesh.

India vs Pakistan Live Score, ICC Champions Trophy 2025: Pandya goes off with figures of 1/18 in his six overs.
