Hyderabad sees significant growth in flight connectivity
With over 54,000 airline tickets sold to and from India in first half of 2024, marking a 46 pc growth, Trevolution says that India is its top travel destination.
In a clear sign of rebounding air travel to India, 54,000 airline tickets were sold to and from India in first six months of 2024, says Trevolution, an American travel agency that specialises in the Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR) segment.
In a press statement, Trevolution says that this generated nearly USD 65 million in gross booking revenue, contributing over 10 pc to the company’s total gross profit in the first half of the year.
It adds that the number of unique tickets issued reached 54,625, a 45.6 pc increase compared to 2023. Economy class bookings made up 88.7 pc of all flights, with demand rising by 50.6 pc. Additionally, the share of round-trip tickets grew by 11 pc, accounting for 54.6 pc of all tickets sold.
Trevolution says that increased flight connectivity is attracting more international travellers to India, with Hyderabad, along with Delhi and Mumbai, experiencing a rapid 31 pc growth compared to 2023. The latest business results show that in the past six months, Hyderabad contributed to 15 pc of the total flight tickets sold to and from India’s largest airports.
The statement adds that in 2023, it sold over 840,000 airline tickets and vacation packages, making it the fourth-largest airline ticket consolidator in the US.
“India remains a key market for Trevolution, consistently demonstrating strong growth in air travel year after year. It was also one of the first markets to rebound to pre-pandemic levels by 2021. With the Indian government’s objectives to boost tourism, as highlighted in the Union Budget, we anticipate even stronger growth in air travel to and from the region in the coming years,” says Alex Weinstein, Founder of Dyninno, the parent company of Trevolution.
