India cricket team beat Bangladesh by 60 runs to win their first warm-up game for the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in Long Island, New York on Saturday, June 01, 2024.
Chasing the target of 183 to win, Bangladesh were 41/5 before the old guards Shakib Al Hasan (28) and Mahmudullah (40) added 75 runs for the sixth wicket to provide some respectability to the total. Eventually, they made 122/9 and lost the match by a huge margin of 60 runs. For India, Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Dube picked two wickets each.
Earlier India posted 182/5 at the end of their 20 overs in against Bangladesh. Rishabh Pant hit fifty while Hardik Pandya hit an unbeaten 40.
India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. This was the first professional game for the make-shift stadium, built only for this mega event in the Big Apple.
Virat Kohli was not available for India and Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed are not available for Bangladesh for today’s game.
