India will chase against Australia during the fourth Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The home side registered a 105-run lead in the first innings.

The last time India played at the venue in 2020, it chased down a target of 70 runs and won by eight wickets. The highest chase at the MCG in this century, however, came in 2013 when Australia shot down 231 against England.
