London Fashion Week, renowned for its eclectic style and innovative spirit is back with its 40th anniversary. The unique platform always sets the stage for the latest beauty trends and 2024 was no different. From daring makeup looks to revolutionary hairstyles, the runways of London Fashion Week 2024 offered a glimpse into the future of beauty. Rife with moments elevating the mundane, the runway was a huge inspiration for fashion lovers worldwide.
Let’s dive into the hottest trends that emerged from this year’s runway and are poised to inspire makeup looks worldwide:
This season, the most notable pouts on the runways were adorned with warm shades of fiery red and orange. Ahluwalia’s LFW debut paid homage to cultural heritage, drawing inspiration from the mix of Jamaica and India. With glowy skin creating a radiant and fresh appearance, the warm colours mimicked the hues of a sunset.
The beauty look at Patrick McDowell’s event was a masterclass in ethereal skin, perfectly matched with dramatic brown lip liner and Noughties nudes. Luxurious, radiant skin was complemented by stunning barbed wire eye makeup, creating a look that balanced elegance with an edgy twist.
In case you missed it, cool-toned eye makeup took centre stage at the LFW this year. Models rocked the intense smoky eyes down the runway, showcasing a blend of olive green and gunmetal grey pigments with a matte finish.
One step up from the nude eyeshadows was an all-over wash of colour, particularly blue eyeshadow. It was a standout trend on the London Fashion Week runways this season. Models sported a variety of eyeshadows tailored to complement their skin tones and outfits. At Tove, shades like icy blues, moss greens and bright red were applied across the lids, adding a touch of glamour and futuristic appeal.
Designer Huishan Zhang embraced London’s rocker-chic vibes and paired his collection with goth-inspired eye makeup. Models sported mid-tone grey eyeshadow all over the lids and extended up to their brow bones, adding a bold and edgy flair to the LFW runway.
Yet again, designers experimented with cool-toned pigments on their models’ eyes. South London-based brand KNWLS went for a pretty shade of light dove grey for a softer look that feels perfect for the summer and spring months.
