FOINIX produced a devastating display to win at Brighton last time out, where it looked as though the drop back to 12f 5 days ago really suited this 4-year-old. Previous assignments before that over longer trips gave the impression that Foinix wasn’t quite seeing his races, so the relative test of speed was much more to his liking.
He has more on his plate here on these terms, but if arriving in the same vein of form he will take some stopping with quick ground ideal over this extended 1m3f trip. 5lb claimer Joe Leavy is in the middle of an absolute golden spell, riding full of confidence at the moment.
The young pilot has been operating a 41% winning strike-rate for August so far, so is a rider very much to have onside. This combination can follow up the victory from last time out and make it two wins on the bounce.

MISS STORMY NIGHT has been going through the gears, and has now won three races on the spin, where the combination of fast ground and the application of the first time hood really seem to have galvanised the filly. She is progressing at a rapid rate and could easily be up to defying her revised mark of 79. Her winning sequence started off in June at Salisbury where she got the job done off a mark of 58 and hasn’t looked back since.
A course and distance win followed where she showed good speed, and then showed that a further 10lb hike in the weights was no issue as she got the job done at Lingfield. The accessor has put her up another 6lb for this encounter, but she is clearly in fine fettle so we may not have seen the ceiling of her ability yet.
Underfoot conditions will be absolutely spot on for her, and a return to this venue holds no fears as she has demonstrated in the past. Richard Kingscote is in the saddle for the Clive Cox team, and four wins on the spin would be far from a surprise here.

If Sir Michael Stoute gives the green light to the lightly-raced 4-year-old LET LIFE HAPPEN to take her chance in the Premier Fillies’ Handicap at Salisbury on Thursday she will be of real interest on just her second start this year.
The daughter of Siyouni looked very smart when winning on the All Weather last September, but then was disappointing on her seasonal bow at Doncaster when very weak in the market before hand, and ultimately she ran no sort of race on very testing ground. It is entirely feasible that she needed the run and conditions were set against her on that occasion.
This could be much more her bag, and given time to recover since she has the potential to be well handicapped having been eased 2lb after her Town Moor exploits. She has been in my notebook since that run and I wouldn’t be shocked if she was better than a Class 3 Handicapper.
