Tom Cannon and Alan King team up with VIVID PINK who ran with plenty of credit when runner-up at this venue two starts ago, and can get back to form after a flat performance at Market Rasen last time out.
The 5-year-old Mare is still relatively lightly-raced, and should benefit from a break and a return to this venue on just her second start in a Handicap Hurdle. The key angle looks to be the step up in trip here – the way she plugged on over the minimum trip suggesting that the more her stamina is drawn out, the more she can bring to the table.
Off a mark of 93 she is still open to any amount of improvement and she looks more than capable of serving it up to her rivals.
On paper, this is a wide-open Class 5 event and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Alan King representative got involved at the business end of proceedings.

The James Owen yard are in red-hot form at present, operating north of a 30% strike-rate for the last two weeks.
BALLYTECHNO ran with plenty of credit on stable and hurdling debut at Worcester three weeks ago, when staying on strongly to finish second. At one point, the 5-year-old looked outpaced and in a spot of bother, but rallied well in the closing stages in that assignment over the minimum trip.
Stepping up to this extended 2m3f looks tailor made for the son of Milan, who can travel much more in his comfort zone over this distance. This is not a race with a great deal of strength and depth and it isn’t hard to envisage stacks of improvement here.
Sean Bowen continues to be riding out of his skin, and he is in the saddle once again on board Ballytechno.
With extra distance promising to suit, it would be a disappointment if he wasn’t able to be in with a major shout of landing this race before going on to bigger things

At an each-way price, I am going to take a chance on MANINSANE rolling back the years for a rejuvenated Charlie Longsdon team.
The Hook Norton handler saw many of his string badly out of form in the late spring and early summer, but the horses seem fit and healthy again, and the yard are back amongst the winners again.
Maninsane was running badly at that aforementioned period, but the upside is that the 9-year-old has plummeted down the weights and now from a BHA rating of 104 he is 11lb lower than when last stepping into the winners’ enclosure. So therefore he looks dangerously well treated off hsi current mark, and with the yard’s horses back in much better form it is hard to rule out a revival.
Other plus points would be that he is a previous C&D winner, and also has a good record when fresh, so the fact he returns after a 168-day layoff shouldn’t be an issue whatsoever.
Lily Pinchin takes the ride and this combination shouldn’t be ruled out at a big price.
