James Owen saddles a pair of solid contenders in Khangai (second choice) and Come On John but both might have to give way to Lucinda Russell’s progressive filly JUJUBELLA who opened her account in good style here recently and can make light of an 8lb rise now her stamina is unlocked.
A case can be made for virtually all of these. Gemma Tutty’s dual C&D scorer KING’S SCHOOL didn’t enjoy the rub of the green when fourth over C&D last time and is taken to resume winning ways. Swiss Ace heads the list of dangers, with fellow C&D scorers William Dewhirst and Starliner also well in the mix in this competitive handicap.
A few with chances but Jim Goldie has his string in great nick so his WATER OF LEITH looks the way to go having done well to overcome a steady pace when scoring over C&D last time. Fellow C&D winners Darlo Pride (second choice) and Show Me Show Me can both have a say too, along with Kempon runner-up Above.
Those with experience do not set the bar too high so this could rest between newcomers Anwaar and SHE’S THE DUCHESS with preference for the latter, who hails from a family chock full of winners and represents last year’s successful yard. Memardee rates the pick of the rest.
Antony Brittain’s MONDAMMEJ (nap) has been revitalised by an autumn wind operation and gets a confident vote to follow up his stylish recent win here and garner a fourth success in his last six starts. Hat-trick seeker Pals Battalion is next on the list with Airman and True Promise also worthy of consideration for minor honours.
Patrick Morris’ TASEVER goes really well at this track and is hard to side against under a 5lb penalty for his emphatic victory here six days ago. Profitman arrives at the top of his game and rates the main threat, although in-form maiden Rob’s Umbrella and C&D scorer Cusack can also have a say.
Mark Usher’s TOMORROW DAY started 2025 with a promising C&D second and off the same mark can now bag a fifth win at the track. Liam Bailey’s Beneficiary rates a big threat though on the back of his very good recent second here, while the lightly-raced Tantomile and course scorer Tickets appeal as the pick of the rest for minor honours.
