Many Hong Kong startups that are attending the Consumer Electronics Show 2025 in the United States said they received dozens of inquiries and some orders on the first day.
One startup spokesperson told Sing Tao Daily, sister publication of The Standard: “I [am glad we are] very popular at this exhibition.”
The Innovation Mixer initiative of the HKSTP led a delegation of 45 tech companies to the CES 2025 – which runs through until Friday – while six non-HKSTP tech companies and institutes are also attending the event.
The delegation spans its presence at the Hong Kong Tech Pavilion across Eureka Park and Global Pavilion under five industry fields – including Advanced Electronics & Robotics, Advanced Materials & Sustainable Technology, AI & Data, Digital Transformation, and Life & Health – to draw traction from industry leaders, venture capitals, and research and development institutions.
Derek Chim, head of startup ecosystem and development of HKSTP, said: “It is gratifying to introduce to the world up-and-coming startups from Hong Kong and their breakthrough technology. Our mission at HKSTP is to provide promising startups resources in gaining a firm footing on the global stage. We welcomed over 6,000 visitors at CES 2024 that’s gotten us numerous business leads.”
Also, the HKSTP launched the Global Booster Programme following CES 2024, in which five Hong Kong startups were selected for business development opportunities in Silicon Valley that led to over US$15 million (HK$117 million) secured.
