A new study has labelled Hemel Hempstead as one of the top 10 best areas across England for young girls starting a career in football.
The research examined Football Association data on football clubs with teams for girls aged five to 19, alongside Office for National Statistics population stats. It highlighted the towns and cities with the most clubs offering opportunities for young female players.
According to Football Whispers, Hemel is the sixth best place for girls to learn the sport, with 595 clubs within a 20-mile radius of the town.
Speaking to Hemel news, young footballer Emily Fraser, who plays for the U11 Hemel Aces team, said: “Hemel Aces is my home club, and I adore the team. The girls are amazing and I’ve just made so many lifelong friends. Impact sports have played such a big part in my development.
“I love coach Jack Manley; he has helped me since I was nine and his training sessions are really good.”
