Hereford FC kept up their superb run of form, with a 2-0 victory over Alfreton Town at Edgar Street.
The victory lifted the Bulls to 4th in the National League North table, with another home fixture on Tuesday evening, when they host Buxton.
Hereford’s play-off hopes are growing after goals from Yusifu Ceesay and Tate Campbell saw them beat dreaded Alfreton Town for the first time since 2018.
Go back any further and it was a certain Jarrod Bowen, now playing for West Ham United and England, scoring for the Bulls in the super April 2014 3-2 home win.
But back to the present day, it was a game of two halves and a little bit of luck seeing Hereford to the vital three points.
The first half saw two sides cancel each other out with no notable chances, whereas in the second half, Hereford had a little bit more nouse and fight – while still remaining patient – to carve out the win.

Elsewhere, Hereford Pegasus put in a spirited performance to earn a 1-1 draw with top of the table Hartpury at the KGD Stadium. Mike Burgess with the goal for Pegasus.
Wellington gained a vital victory over Chipping Sodbury. Goals from Sam Griffiths (2) and Carlos Moreira earned the three points for Wellington, to leave them above the relegation zone with a couple of games in hand.
Westfields were beaten on the road on Friday night. Westfields took the lead through Daniel Stoneman, before Sam Hunt saw red and the hosts Sporting Club Inkberrow scored two quick goals to earn the three points. The result leaves Westfields winless on the road since early November.
