The NFL Network kicked off the week by beginning its countdown of “The Top 100 Players of 2024,” and on Tuesday, the first San Francisco 49ers player to be voted onto the list by his peers was revealed.
Linebacker Dre Greenlaw earned spot No. 76 in the top 100 and was announced alongside athletes ranking from 71-80. The sixth-year pro made his top 100 debut in 2023 at No. 79 and is back for a second-straight year, jumping up three spots in the rankings after another productive year with the red and gold.
Greenlaw started in 15 of 17 regular season games and all three playoff contests, including San Francisco’s Super Bowl LVIII appearance, working in tandem with All-Pro Fred Warner to make up one of the most formidable linebacker duos in the NFL. In 2023, Greenlaw finished second on the team in tackles for 120 (five for a loss), four pass breakups and 1.5 sacks.
The vote to determine the top 100 athletes in the NFL is in its 14th year and includes only the ballots of current players in the league. The accompanying video series, which is now streaming on NFL+, is produced by NFL films and gives an inside look at the this elite group of athletes ahead of the 2024 season.
The full list of “The Top 100 Players of 2024” will be rolled out each morning at 9 a.m. PST on NFL+ in groups of 10 through Wednesday, July 31. The top 10 will be announced on Friday, August 2 at 5 p.m. PST live on NFL Network.
