Davis finished 2023 starting all 17 games for the Black and Gold for the second season in a row in his 12th season in the NFL. The 35-year-old paced the Saints in tackles for the sixth straight campaign, posting a team-high 121 tackles (74 solo) and matched his career-high with 6.5 sacks, the second highest total on the team and tied for first in NFL among inside linebackers. He also added 12 tackles for loss, four passes defensed, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Davis was named to his fifth consecutive Associated Press All-Pro team, being named to the second team, and would also notch his second consecutive Pro Bowl honors.
The Saints captain would help lead a defense that ranked top 10 in points allowed for the fourth consecutive season. The defense would finish in the top five in opponent third down conversion rate, interceptions, and total takeaways and top 10 opponent red zone touchdown percentage.
