Ohio State quarterback Will Howard’s draft stock may have received a boost from the Buckeyes’ College Football Playoff National Championship Game victory.
NFL Network draft guru Daniel Jeremiah expressed his belief that Howard might be selected with one of the top 50 picks in the 2025 NFL draft.
“He’s right on the borderline of a top-50 pick for me at this point in time,” Jeremiah said during a Thursday appearance on the Pat McAfee Show.
When discussing the possibility of Howard getting drafted in the fourth round, Jeremiah expected him to be off the board earlier.
“He’s much higher than that,” he added. “He’s a day two guy for me as we sit right now.”
Howard wrapped up a strong senior season with the Buckeyes in 2024, completing 73 percent of his throws for 4,010 yards and 35 touchdowns compared to 10 interceptions. He also rushed for 226 yards and seven scores.
The 23-year-old shined during Ohio State’s CFP run that culminated in a national title. In four playoff games, he threw for 1,150 yards and eight touchdowns to go along with a 75.2 completion percentage. He was only picked off twice.

Howard was ranked as the No. 11 quarterback and No. 130 overall player in the 2025 draft class on the latest big board from Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department.
His exact range should become more clear as the pre-draft process continues, but he may hear his name called before Day 2 comes to a close following his strong CFP run.
The 2025 NFL draft begins on April 24.
