BOYS BASKETBALL TOP 10
1. Redondo 22-2
Hudson Mayes and SJ Madison both recently reached 1,000 career points as the Sea Hawks close in on the Bay League title and a berth in the CIF Southern Section Open Division playoffs.
2. Mira Costa 21-3
The Mustangs have a three games this week, starting Tuesday at home against Peninsula. They will also host King/Drew (Wednesday) and Paraclete (Friday).
3. Rolling Hills Prep 19-6
Mateo Trujillo and Nick Welch Jr. scored 16 and 15 points, respectively, Friday in a win against St. Mary’s of Arizona in the Nike Extravaganza at Mater Dei.
4. Inglewood 22-6
The Sentinels closed the regular season strong with impressive nonleague wins against Canyon and Los Alamitos. They also wrapped up the Ocean League title with wins over Leuzinger and Lawndale.
5. St. Bernard 17-7
The Vikings fell out of first place in the Del Rey League with losses to St. Paul and St. Anthony. They have three games this week, facing St. Monica (Monday), hosting Serra (Wednesday) and visiting St. Pius X-St. Matthias (Friday).
6. Westchester 11-9
The Comets have three games this week in the Western League. They wrapped up last week with an 85-36 win over Hamilton.
7. Bishop Montgomery 12-12
The Knights have lost four consecutive Del Rey League games. This week they host St. Pius X-St. Matthias (Wednesday) and visit Serra (Friday).
8. Leuzinger 19-7
The Olympians went 1-2 last week, losing to Inglewood and Culver City. They will turn their attention this week to the postseason Ocean League tournament.
9. Wiseburn Da Vinci 17-8
The Wolves face a big week in the Bay League, hosting Palos Verdes and visiting Peninsula.
10. San Pedro 14-8
The Pirates move into the Top 10 as they head into another week of Marine League games, They are home against Rancho Dominguez (Wednesday) and play at Gardena (Friday).
Next teams: North Torrance 14-11; Torrance 18-5; South Torrance 16-10; West Torrance 15-11
