December the 14th, 2024 – Croatia is among the top ten Googled travel destinations in the world. One island in particular stands out among the recommendations.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Croatia was among the top ten most Googled travel destinations in 2024. It ranked in 10th place, while Turkey ranked as number one, according to Conde Nast Traveler (CNT). The aforementioned were ascertained according to regular research and Google data on travel destination searches over the past 12 months.
Noting that these top ten countries recorded the largest increase in searches on Google year-on-year in 2024, the magazine emphasised that this can be an inspiration for travel in 2025 as well.
They say that Croatia is gradually gaining a reputation as a top European tourist destination and that it is also “a more affordable holiday destination than some of its neighbouring countries.”
Alongside Croatia being among the top ten most Googled travel destinations, visiting its islands is recommended, especially Korčula, which is a firm favourite. Exploring the interior of the country and the gourmet offer around Split or Zagreb, as well as visiting Dubrovnik, are also activities which stand out.
In first place among the top ten most Googled travel destinations in 2024 is, as stated, Turkey. CNT point out that this country on the border between Europe and Asia actually wasn’t in the top ten in 2023, but has once again emerged owing to its rich diversity, heritage, food and world-class hotels.
In second place is nearby Greece, which always inspires no matter what travellers choose to do. In third place is the tiny island of Malta, which has become a hit European island destination with a deep history and beauty.
They are followed in fourth place by neighbouring Italy, which “will never get boring”, in fifth place is Egypt, in sixth is Portugal, and the seventh most Googled country for travel in 2024 is Cyprus.
Behind it are Mexico in eighth place, and Mauritius in ninth place.
