After the exhilarating action on Day 4, India decimated Bangladesh on Day 5 in the second Test at Green Park, Kanpur on Tuesday, October 1, to win by seven wickets. This result meant Rohit Sharma and Co. whitewashed their neighbours by a 2-0 margin in the two-match series.
Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah were the star performers for India with the ball on Day 5 as they took three wickets apiece in Bangladesh’s second innings. The tourists were rolled over for 146 after Shadman Islam scored a valiant half-century. Chasing a paltry target of 95, Yashasvi Jaiswal struck his second half-century in the Test match off just 42 balls after Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill departed early. In the end, it was Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant who took the home side to victory in the 18th over.

Jaiswal was fittingly adjudged Player of the Match for his breathtaking half-centuries in both innings of the Test match. Meanwhile, Ravichandran Ashwin was bestowed with the Player of the Series award after contributing with both bat and ball.
