CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Golfers young and old came out to Chesterfield on Tuesday night for more than just a tee time.
Community members from all over the St. Louis area showed support for the organization Big Brothers Big Sisters as part of their Topgolf takeover.
The event was created to raise money and awareness to fund their mission of supporting youth and families around eastern Missouri. The organization wanted a new way of bringing donors so board members and future mentors and mentees came together for a bit of fun.
“So really, it’s about giving the littles of Big Brothers Big Sisters, the current littles and then the ones who are trying to get in the organization or on the waitlist. Giving them an opportunity to have a mentor, have someone in their life who is gonna be able to do things for them they don’t currently have from a mentor, that’s guiding them through their youth,” said Brad Smith, President of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri.
More than 400 people attended, who also got the chance to compete against professional golfer James Nitties in a Hole in One Challenge and world champion driver Wes Patterson in a long drive contest.
