Two college restaurants in Cornwall have been crowned the best in the country at a prestigious national award ceremony.
Senara restaurant in Penzance was crowned the AA Hospitality Award’s College Restaurant of the Year, with Spires restaurant in Truro named as runners-up.
Associate director for occupational studies at Truro and Penwith College, David Izzard, said winning prestigious awards gives “students belief and confidence”.
“This is not just a triumph of hospitality excellence, but a beacon of inspiration for our learners,” he said.
A spokesperson for the college said it was the second time Senara had received the award, after winning it in 2022.
The training restaurants are used by about 250 cookery and hospitality students at the college.
The restaurants were two of only three national finalists – The Classroom, a training restaurant at Cardiff and Vale College came third.
