With college football’s championship weekend in the rearview, it is officially bowl season.
Things kicked off with No. 10 Boise State defeating No. 20 UNLV Friday, setting the table for a Saturday complete with high-stakes matchups. No. 15 Arizona State completed a rout of No. 16 in the Big 12 championship, No. 5 Georgia used overtime to sneak past No. 2 Texas in the SEC championship, No. 1 Oregon held off No. 3 Penn State in the Big Ten title game and No. 17 Clemson upset No. 8 SMU in the ACC championship.
With the winners of the above conference championships punching their tickets to the College Football Playoff, all eyes now shift to the remainder of the CFP field. Before the field is announced, fans may be able to get an idea of what to expect based on where the Coaches and AP Top 25 polls place teams.
These rankings do not have any bearing on the official playoff field but are a good first indication of where movement in the rankings should be expected. With that in mind, here are the updated Top 25 polls after championship weekend.
