Bournemouth secured a famous victory over Arsenal, sweeping aside the 10-man Gunners on Saturday on an error-strewn night for Mikel Arteta’s side.
William Saliba was given his marching orders in the first-half for hauling back Cherries striker Evanilson.
Left in the mire thanks to an awful back pass from Leanardo Trossard, the France international was initially booked for denying the Brazilian a clear goal-scoring opportunity with that swiftly upgraded to a red after a VAR review.
Arsenal hung on and perhaps should have taken the lead midway through the second half with substitute Gabriel Martinelli was denied by Kepa.
Moments later, Ryan Christie gave the hosts the lead, slamming home after a superbly-worked corner kick routine.
There was another calamitous back pass eight minutes later, this time from Jakub Kiwior. Evanilson again raced onto the loose ball only to be taken out by David Raya.
Justin Kluivert stepped up to score the resulting penalty and seal a huge win for the hosts.

A brilliant result from Bournemouth! Arsenal caused their own problems throughout and have been punished.
Very meet from the Gunners in these closing moments. Their unbeaten start to the season is about to end.
Five minutes of injury time have been chucked on here.
Fresh off the bench, Gabriel Jesus tries to do it all on his own but is swarmed by five Bournemouth shirts.
A pretty rotten result if it stays like this for Arsenal and let’s not forget, it is Liverpool next. Without the suspended William Saliba. Gulp.
Gabriel Martinelli’s miss moments before Bournemouth’s opener is looking huge now. Without stating the obvious, that could have settled the game and put an entirely different complexion on this Arsenal performance.
After that error, Kiwior, brought on for Raheem Sterling in the first-half, is replaced with Gabriel Jesus thrown on.
Ethan Nwaneri also replaces Merino.
Justin Kluivert steps up and sends Raya the wrong way! Lovely finish and Arsenal’s race looks to be run.
It’s calamitous from the Gunners – Kiwior’s dreadful back pass leaves his teammates in a world of trouble. Evanilson races onto the loose ball and is brought down by Raya. The referee points to the spot.
Kai Havertz looks to race through one on one… and the ball whacks him on the back of the head. That just might sum up Arsenal’s evening.
Bournemouth take the lead! It’s a superbly worked move from the Cherries on a corner kick, feeding it into Kluivert who gets a deft touch to divert into the path of Christie. He makes no mistake with the finish, drilling into the net.
Superb save from Kepa! Moments after carelessly giving the ball away, he leaps into action to deny Martinelli with a smart save.
Gabriel Martinelli is warming up. The forward picked up a calf problem while on international duty, missing Brazil’s game against Peru earlier this week. He was among the doubts leading into the weekend but could have a role to play this evening.
Rice swings in an Arsenal corner with Gabriel looking to add to his goal tally. Havertz instead rises to meet but can’t keep his effort on target.
Oh what a miss from Semenyo! The ball comes over from the left and he has all the time in the world to watch it and measure his shot. It ends up in row Z.
The action has resumed at the Vitality Stadium.
Bleak reading for Gunners fans – things have to improve in the second-half.
The Premier League Match Centre wrote on X: ‘The referee gave Saliba a yellow card for a challenge on Evanilson.
‘The VAR deemed that Saliba denied an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and recommended an on-field review. The referee then upgraded the yellow to a red card.’
That’s that, then.
