Landon Silinsky provides his top golf bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for the BMW Championship.
The PGA TOUR heads to Colorado this week for the BMW Championship. Castle Rock Golf Club will be the host, and measures as an 8,130-yard par 72 with Bentgrass greens.
There will be no cut this week, yet again, and the field will feature the top-50 remaining golfers in the FedEx Cup standings.
Below I have outlined my two favorite bets for the week.
Hovland came to life to begin the FedEx Cup Playoffs last week, finishing T2 and just one stroke behind winner Hideki Matsuyama. Hovland missed a nine-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole that would have forced a playoff, but nonetheless played the best golf he’s played all season. The Norwegian gained 8.6 strokes ball-striking at TPC Southwind, which led the field.
Hovland is peaking at just the right time, as he will look to defend his BMW Championship crown this week at Castle Rock. His only other top-10 this year came at the PGA Championship back in May, and after a couple of months of severe struggles, it appears the 26-year-old has found his game.
Hovland would easily be closer to 10/1 or shorter this week if he’d shown any type of form this year, so the fact we can get him 18/1 feels like a gift. This is a spot we want to be early on, as this price could split in half as we approach the TOUR Championship next week.
Clark is another golfer who’s been rounding into form of late, as he posted his third top-10 finish across his past five starts last week with a T7 in Memphis. Clark gained strokes in all four major categories last week, and now heads back to his home state with some serious momentum.
The 2023 U.S. Open champ has the requisite skill set to take down a course like Castle Rock, as he’s one of the longest hitters in this field, while boasting one of the best flat sticks on the PGA TOUR. He’s already shown multiple times in his career that he’s a big game hunter, winning the Wells Fargo Championship last year, before his aforementioned U.S. win at L.A. Country Club. He then took down the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this year, while setting the course record during his third round.
Clark is on an upward trajectory right now, and with Rory McIlroy struggling and both Xander Schauffele and Scottie Scheffler’s prices too short to bet this week, the Denver native makes a ton of sense at this 30/1 number.
