After Atalanta’s Europa League success last night after beating Bayer Leverkusen, the Mayor of Bergamo announced an open-top bus parade for celebrations.
Speaking in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Bergamo Mayor Giorgio Gori was in an ecstatic mood to congratulate his city team Atalanta after they clinched the Europa League title, their first silverware since 2011.
Gori announced that the La Dea squad would go around Bergamo in an open-top bus parade with the trophy. He said: “There will certainly be great expectations of being able to meet the team with an open bus in the city. I am at the club’s disposal”
Atalanta fans are experiencing one of the best days of their life. The Europa League triumph last night became their second-ever major trophy in the cabinet after the Coppa Italia victory in 1963.
Congratulations poured from different parts of the world for the Orobici as they have come a long way in their journey to the heights of European Football.
