The big guns are beginning their Indian Wells campaigns today with Iga Swiatek, Elena Rybakina, Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev among those in second-round action.
23:20 CET – Top seed Alexander Zverev is out! The German has been knocked out by Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor after a three-hour battle 4-6, 7-6(5), 7-6(4). A huge shock at Indian Wells.
Meanwhile, Katerina Siniakova and Elina Avanesyan are through in the women’s draw.
22:49 CET – Twenty-fifth seed Katie Boulter is the first seeded player of the day to be really challenged as she needed three sets to take down Romania’s Irina-Camelia Begu. The Briton came back from a set down to win 6-7(2), 6-3, 6-0 in two hours and 39 minutes.
21:51 CET – Another Frenchman is through to the next round after Quentin Halys won his match that was carried over from last night, beating Spanish qualifier Pablo Carreno-Busta 6-3, 6-4.
21:45 CET – Over to the men’s draw, where 18th seed Ugo Humbert has beaten Japanese veteran Kei Nishikori 6-4, 6-3.
21:35 CET – Elena Rybakina, the seventh seed in Indian Wells, is through to the third round after she defeated Suzan Lamens in straight sets 6-3, 6-3 in 86 minutes.
Another seed is safely through too, as Karolina Muchova is into the next stage with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Elisabetta Cocciaretto.
21:19 CET – Our first result of the day is in, as 10th seed Tommy Paul has won an all-American encounter 6-3, 6-1 against Tristan Boyer.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk has made light work of Robin Montgomery, with the world number 18 beating the American 6-1, 6-3.
19:55 CET – Also in action along with Zverev in around five minutes is women’s seventh seed Elena Rybakina, who is also going up against a Dutch player in the form of Suzan Lamens.
