Friday sees the start of the third LIV Golf tournament of 2025 as the tour heads to Hong Kong following Joaquin Niemann’s victory in Adelaide last month.
The Chilean, who was fourth at the Hong Kong Golf Club 12 months ago, is set to go off as second favourite behind Jon Rahm, but this 6,710-yard par 70 course is a test of accuracy that varies from many of the LIV set-ups, so it may not be the big-hitters who flourish this time.

Patrick Reed to win @ 30/1
Patrick Reed has yet to taste success on the LIV Tour, but the former Masters champion represents excellent value at a course where he won the Asian Tour’s Hong Kong Open just a few months ago.
Reed ripped into the layout that week, carding a memorable 59 in the third round even though it was off preferred lies and, while it seems hard to fill the Texan with any more confidence, he should certainly head back with a spring in his step.
While his opening LIV efforts of 44th in Riyadh and 37th in Adelaide last time may look underwhelming, he was at least lifted by hitting a hole in one in Australia and he has also posted two Dp World Tour top-ten finishes since the turn of the year.
A return to a venue that holds such great recent memories is a big boost and this could be the week that he finally breaks his duck.
Abraham Ancer to win @ 20/1
Mexico’s Abraham Ancer came out on top of this tournament last year when he had to hold his nerve following a shaky final round to see off Cameron Smith and Paul Casey in a play-off.
He could be even more assured this time on a course where he opened with rounds of 63 and 62 last time, as he was runner-up to Niemann in Australia and came into the Hong Kong battle last year having been 12th at Jeddah the week before.
This is a challenge that suits his game and he possesses all the necessary skills, standing in the top 20 of the LIV accuracy and greens-in-regulation stats.
Carlos Ortiz to win @ 30/1
Another Mexican represents good value for a third selection as the straight-hitting Carlos Ortiz was also second in Australia.
He knows what it is like to win in this sort of company, having tasted success in June’s gathering in Houston and having missed out on last year’s play-off by a solitary shot.
He should be determined to go even closer to glory this time.
