Bhambri and Popyrin, who knocked out the World No.1 pairing of El Salvador’s Marcelo Arevalo and Croat Mate Pavic in the first round, have been living on the edge this week. They went head 4-1 in the super tie-break but Murray and Peers levelled at 5-5 and even went ahead 6-5 before the Indo-Aussie combine powered through.
“I came in here with no expectations, but every match we’ve played we’ve gotten better,” 32-year-old said. “In this format anything goes, everything goes. Give it our best shot and you never know. At this level, there are no easy matches. It’s so cut-throat.”
