If you want to go to one of the best hotels in the U.S. consider a staycation in Massachusetts.
U.S. News & World Report recently released its list of the best hotels in the country for 2025, and three in Massachusetts made the top 20.
The annual ranking is based on an analysis of expert opinions and recommendations from U.S. News & World Report writers, judging resorts in three categories: industry awards, guest reviews and hotel class ratings.
Out of the hundreds of resorts from across the country, Boston Harbor Hotel, Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street and Raffles – all located in Boston – were among the top ranked.
Here’s what to know about U.S. News & World Report’s top hotels in Massachusetts.
“When it comes to this hotel, guests say its excellent waterfront location and elegant decor set it apart from nearby properties,” wrote U.S. News & World Report about Boston Harbor Hotel.
The hotel’s clean, sophisticated guest rooms overlook the city’s harbor while vintage chandeliers and art of Boston deck the walls. Outside of the cozy rooms, Boston Harbor offers services like golf suites, fitness classes, saunas, a pool and a massage service.
However, this hotel does not just offer a luxury stay on Boston’s waterfront, but also the perfect stay for wine lovers, as every winter, it becomes home to the Boston Wine & Food Festival. Boston Harbor also has various restaurants of its own, including the top-rated Rowes Wharf Sea Grille, which sits right on the water.

“Whether you’re indulging in a spa day on the wellness floor, which features a spa, an indoor pool and a fully equipped fitness center, or taking a spot of afternoon tea at Trifecta, the hotel’s amenities manage to be both elegant and hip at the same time,” U.S. News & World Report said about the hotel. “Each guest room is spacious and smartly designed, featuring amenities like well-stocked minibars, Nespresso machines, 65-inch flat-screen TVs and comfy beds that guests rave about.”

According to U.S. News & World Report, all rooms at Raffles Boston have “dramatic city views, marble bathrooms with rain showers or soaking tubs, Nespresso machines, flat-screen TVs, butler service and private bars,” and guests can enjoy amenities like a “24-hour fitness center, 65-foot indoor lap pool and hot tub, and serene Guerlain Spa.”
