The Supreme Novices’ Hurdle is the traditional curtain raiser at the Cheltenham Festival.
The famous Cheltenham Roar greets the flag fall as the runners charge towards the first of eight hurdles over the two-mile trip on the Old Course.
Slade Steel made the most of testing conditions to land last year’s less-than-stellar renewal and this season’s edition is also shaping up to be a wide-open affair due to the lack of standout in the division.
