The newly created Basketball Coaches Association of Virginia (BCAV) just announced its first coaches poll for both girls and boys in all six Virginia High School League classifications.
BCAV member coaches are the only people who vote in polls. Each member head coach receives a ballot for their specific gender and classification. BCAV was created to help give coaches a voice in VHSL basketball.
BCAV will send the ballot out to member coaches on the first and 15th of each month. Coaches will have 48 hours to submit their ballot and BCAV will announce the updated Top 10 polls on the third day. The final poll of the season will be sent out to coaches March 15 after the VHSL state tournament is completed.
In the Shenandoah District, three teams cracked the top 10 — the Buffalo Gap girls, Stuarts Draft girls and Wilson Memorial boys.
