6 Quietly Arrogant (Bet Now: $4.60) is one of two runners here that I think could do the double of winning this and then win the big one next Saturday. He debuted at Randwick where he was very raw and new to the caper but I really liked the way he closed off in defeat behind Pallaton, who is one of the more impressive juveniles I’ve seen this season. That looks the A1 form and he gets B Shinn. Stunned he is not favourite here.
Danger
2 Torque To Be Sure (Bet Now: $1.55) is the other horse I am interested in for next week if he wins here. But I will say, he does seem on the short side. He comes through The Debut where he got back off the speed and was green/raw but loved the way he closed off in defeat when second. Better for the run under the belt, he takes beating.
Long Shot
4 Midnight Spirit (Bet Now: $6.00) is a debut winner and commands respect. That win came over this track/distance when leading throughout and he didn’t give his rivals a look in, winning comfortably. Good test here, but think he can measure up.

I’ll declare that I am on a big price for 5 Forgotten Spirit (Bet Now: $13.00) next week so my Blinkers are on for her when it comes to this race, but I thought she was excellent in The Debut. Three/four wide no cover from barrier five…decent effort from Cartwright, but the filly battled on really well. Maloney rode in the second trial and he is on here, so a big upgrade. With luck from the gate, she takes beating.
Danger
1 La Bella Boom (Bet Now: $3.30) comes here with fresh legs for Tony Gollan, having not raced since Nov 2 when a winner over 1200m at Doomben when on speed and had to dig in late bur she found under pressure to win and win well. Tick over trial was good and although she is secured a start for next weekend, this has been a proven winning formula.
Long Shot
11 Deceitful Miss (Bet Now: $151.00) is one I can entertain at odds. She debuted in a maiden at the Sunny Coast where she got off the speed and while she was never a winning threat she did make up headway and was a definite pass mark in defeat I thought. Not sure she is good enough to win but can finish top four.

9 Iconify (Bet Now: $8.00) should take beating. Ciaron Maher trained colt that ran over 1550m at Canterbury last time out when on speed throughout and he tried hard to get there but couldn’t quite finish the job, run down late by Sharon Drive. Back to 1400m I do like and the Blinkers go on to sharpen him up.
Danger
On paper, 8 Hell To Pay (Bet Now: $2.20) was plain last start, but when you consider he is running here, perhaps third up, this is a target race. He was very good fresh at Canterbury before racing there again and was a bit on the plain side after seemingly getting every chance. Hard fit now and gets C Williams, he rates highly.
Long Shot
3 Major Look (Bet Now: $31.00) is a stablemate of Hell To Pay and the stable loves to target this race, having won it a few years ago with Newsreader with the same connections. He is first up, having not raced since July 27 at Kembla when running fourth over 1400m after getting a suck run. Fresh at 1400m signals intent and his trial work to get ready has been encouraging.

13 Diddle Dumpling (Bet Now: $7.50) has to be given another look. This girl was well supported at Randwick last time out but she didn’t fire a shot and was a bit on the plain side in the straight behind Arriving Home. She has the engine under the hood so don’t dismiss her.
Danger
2 Wooloowin (Bet Now: $4.00) is a mare with good talent for Nathan Doyle. She ran over 1200m at Randwick last start where she got back to near last in the run and although never a winning threat, she made up headway and was pretty good in defeat. If she can settle closer, she takes beating.
Long Shot
3 Instagood (Bet Now: $20.00) is a query at 1300m but on a firmer deck vs recent runs, she is dangerous. She ran over 1200m on heavy ground at Eagle Farm last start where she got off speed and kept chasing in a solid enough performance in defeat behind Mixed Signals. Tricky gate, so not sure she wins, but a first four contender.

9 Moravia (Bet Now: $1.65) is the class factor, by some distance…just not sure what upside there is left. That said, he brings the A1 form with a close up fourth in the Razor Sharp where he seemingly had every chance but battled away really well in defeat. Kind map, B Shinn on, he rates highly.
Danger
6 Tuff Tu Mus (Bet Now:
$SP.00) is heading in the right direction for David Vandyke. He has won three on the bounce, all coming at Doomben, two of those wins coming over 1350m before going to the mile when quite dominant after sitting on speed. Tricky draw, but he looks a good mover.
Long Shot
11 Tannenburg (Bet Now: $19.00) has good upside to come and should appreciate a rise to 1300m. He resumed over 1200m at Eagle Farm where he got back to near last in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was pretty good in defeat. Maps to settle much closer and be strong at the end.

8 Lady Shotgun (Bet Now: $9.00) is humming for Angela Plumb and she has earned a crack at this kind of race. She has won 3/3 this prep, the latest coming over 1300m at the Gold Coast when off speed and knuckled down with purpose late to win and win well. Tricky draw, but does get Craig Williams and she’ll be stronger than most late.
Danger
10 Addriel (Bet Now: $5.00) is short enough but there was a bit to like about his last start win at Eagle Farm. He got into a good spot off the speed before being presented clear air and away he went to win and win well in impressive fashion. Harder here but he’s in form and maps ideally.
Long Shot
1 Hatchet (Bet Now: $11.00) is a Rob Heathcoate trained gelding that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Aug 31 at Doomben when too far back in the run and failed to get involved behind impressive winner Hold On Honey. Given a good break and has trialled up super in readiness for the return.

Keen to be with 5 Tannhauser (Bet Now: $4.20). On face value, he was disappointing last start. But when you break down the sectionals and how easy Gold Bullion got it in front, he was no hope. The sustained market push in that race suggested he was there to play so forgiving him of that run and I reckon there will be more front end pressure this time around, so Tannhauser will get his chance to finish over the top.
Danger
4 Gold Bullion (Bet Now: $9.50) looks the likely leader and with front end control, is hard to get past, which was seen in the race mentioned above under a peach from Regan. He found plenty under pressure to fend them off and win. He’s found winning form, he can go on with it.
Long Shot
6 Encoder (Bet Now: $26.00) has to be given another look. He ran in the Gold Bullion race. He was wide throughout but that said, he was a bit on the flat side and couldn’t really get involved. Similar to Tannhauser, more genuine tempo and he can run a much improved race.

5 Derry Grove (Bet Now: $7.00) looks ready to rock and roll in search of defending his title from last year. He looks prepped right up for this, with two trials under the belt and each time he has looked pretty good. Nash rode in the first trial, he won on the horse last year and he is back on for this. Hard to beat.
Danger
1 Prince Of Boom (Bet Now: $6.00) has done little wrong in two runs this prep and has to be respected. Each run has come on heavy ground, the latest coming in the Lough Neagh when leading and giving a solid kick but just had no answers late for Cifrado. Firmer deck, good record here, hard to beat.
Long Shot
3 Garza Blanca (Bet Now: $5.00) can a much improved race for Ciaron Maher. Race shape was against him last time at Caulfield so a total forgive. Stable is humming in QLD at present and this guy will be in a similar boat to Derry Grove. Off speed and strong late. Can win.

11 Vestas (Bet Now: $7.50) for me. She has a few quirks, was tardy in her recent trial, but what she has is a motor, and potentially a Group l motor. Should have won on Oaks but was slaughtered and the debut win was electric. The query with her, and like most here, will be how she’ll handle the heat and whether or not it’s too much and she melts. If she handles it and brings her best, she’s a $5 chance IMO so happy to take $8+.
Danger
6 Lady Of Camelot (Bet Now: $3.00) can win this. She could blow them away. She is the class factor, by lengths. Just a matter of what petrol is left in the tank given she had a busy Spring, which started quite early and ended in the thick end of the Spring. Trial was good, maps perfect, class factor…hard to beat, but just too short.
Long Shot
1 King Of Roseau (Bet Now: $34.00) is a knockout hope. He has had two trials to get ready. First one he was out the back and under a hold. Second trial, I am treating like a first up run. Pushed right out and given a good searching gallop for this assignment. His best is more than good enough to be competitive.

Back Me
3 Cosmic Fire (Bet Now: $3.00) for me in the get out. Billy Healey trained three year old that wouldn’t look out of place in the feature. He ran at the Gold Coast last start and kept finding the line in a strong effort behind dominant winner Arabian Summer. Fast run 1100m, he’ll sit off it and be strong late.
Danger
1 Hezdarnhottoo (Bet Now: $4.00) is a Too Darn Hot gelding for Bjorn Baker that resumes. This guy is first up, having not raced since Sep 6 when a narrow but strong winner at Wyong in a solid Class 1. Stable is humming at present and his trial work to get ready has been impressive.
Long Shot
4 Stay Humble (Bet Now: $15.00) is hit and miss but his best is good enough to be dangerous. Dominant win two back at Geelong before going to the 3&4YO Magic Millions at Caulfield Heath when far from disgraced in defeat behind Yes Lulu. Blinkers on to sharpen him, he commands respect.
