I have really liked the way 10 Apocalyptic (Bet Now: $6.50) has looked in trial work so I am going to lean her way. She debuts for Michael Freedman off the back of two trials, the latest seeing her win at Hawkesbury and she seemed to move very well to my eye under Tommy Berry. Maps to get a sweet sit in transit and I am confident she can measure up.
Danger
6 Memo (Bet Now: $2.30) is hard to beat, clearly, but I will say she is a bit on the short side. Yes, she was very good to the eye in the Wyong Magic Millions, but I will say there was a mad bias towards those up and/or in, and she saved ground nearer the inside to drive hard late and miss. She can win, clearly, because she does have talent…just seems a bit on the short side.
Long Shot
2 Tempestuous (Bet Now: $6.00) could be the SP horse from the Wyong Magic Millions. He was a short priced favourite when resuming there but didn’t fire, with Nash saying post race he changed lead legs and couldn’t finish off after that. If he does everything right, he can bounce back hard.

I reckon the Country Championships winner runs here. Just not sure which horse will win but I think there is two. On top is 14 Shropshire Lad (Bet Now: $8.00) for Rod Northam. He should have won on debut at Newcastle but wasn’t given much of a steer so the senior jock went on at Scone, he was a moral and won as such. Extremely confident he measures up here.
Danger
4 Cambar (Bet Now: $6.50) has been given a mini freshen up for Gary Colvin, having not raced since a sharp Highway win first up at Rosehill on Nov 30 when giving them a start and a beating, and got better as the race went on. Tricky draw, but hard to knock an unbeaten horse.
Long Shot
3 Destructive Diva (Bet Now: $71.00) is a Norm Gardner trained mare that resumes. This girl is first up, having not raced since the Guineas Prelude at Wagga when back and chased strongly in defeat behind a nice horse, Cable Express. Better suited over further I feel but is 1/1 at the trip and liked the way she moved in a recent trial.

8 It’s A Wonder (Bet Now: $4.60) should take beating for Ryan/Alexiou. She was backed off the map when resuming in a Class 1 at Hawkesbury and the bets were landed, giving them a start and a beating in an electric performance. She is a mare who has promised a fair bit and now her confidence is up, she can go on with it.
Danger
Fitter and up to 1400m are two big ticks for 2 Emmadella (Bet Now: $2.50). John Thompson trained mare that resumed in a Midway over 1200m here a fortnight back when getting a fair way out of her ground and while she was never a winning threat, she kept finding the line and was quite good in defeat behind Zoubaby. Much better set up here despite the wide gate and with Blinkers on, she takes beating.
Long Shot
6 Alice Mae (Bet Now: $23.00) is flying for Angela Davies and has earned a crack at Midway grade. She has won three on the bounce, with two of the wins coming at Newcastle, including last start. She was six weeks between runs when getting the sweet sit behind the speed and finishing best to score. Hard to knock the way she’s racing.

8 Mawjood (Bet Now: $3.50) to resume a winner for Team Hawkes. He is first up, having not raced since Aug 28 at Canterbury where he was back and failed to get involved in a plain effort behind Hi Dubai. Liked the way he moved in a recent trial behind Roots and the class/quality is there to beat this lot.
Danger
11 Point And Shoot (Bet Now: $2.40) is a Bjorn Baker trained three year old that does have above average ability. He was second up over 1100m in a Nowra maiden where he gave them a start and a beating, and was impressive in getting the job done, running decent time as well. Good upside to come, rates highly.
Long Shot
The gate is awful for 10 Unconquerable (Bet Now: $7.50) but she looks to be humming off her trial work. Price/Kent trained mare that resumes, having not raced since July 15 on the Pakenham Synthetic when on speed and tried hard but was no match late for a pretty good animal, I Am Velvet. She is now trained in Sydney and her trial work to get ready has been electric. If she overcomes the draw, she’ll take holding out.

3 Jewellery (Bet Now: $2.70) has returned well and commands respect. James Cummings trained mare that was a definite pass mark when resuming at Rosehill behind Eye Of The Fire before racing here when ridden with intent and tried her guts out but was nabbed on the peg by Disneck. If she can overcome the tricky gate, she can take this out.
Danger
4 Queen Of The Mile (Bet Now: $4.20) has done little wrong this time in for Michael Freedman and commands respect. Narrow but strong on speed winner at Canterbury fresh before going to Wyong and the 3&4YO Magic Millions where she was good in defeat in a strong race, won by Bauhinia. Hard fit now, good racing style, she appeals.
Long Shot
6 Powerful Peg (Bet Now: $20.00) is dangerous back on firmer footing. She ran under the lights at Canterbury last time where she found the wet track too much and couldn’t pick her feet up late in the piece behind Romeo’s Choice. Good record at around this distance range and she gets in well after the claim.

10 Invader Zim (Bet Now: $7.00) is a son of Invader that resumes for Chris Waller. He didn’t do a bad job in the Winter, noted by a win here on testing ground. He then went here again, found firmer footing, and wasn’t as dynamic behind World Alliance. Trial work has been good and he should be strong late.
Danger
Not sure there is much upside with 2 Eye Of The Fire (Bet Now: $3.10) but he only has to hold his form to be around the mark. He won his opening two runs for the prep in dynamic fashion before racing here two weeks ago when hailed as the winner but was nabbed on the peg by Disneck. Hard to beat against these.
Long Shot
12 Smashing Time (Bet Now: $13.00) is in a similar boat to Amazing Eagle in that he needs to win to warrant heading to the Magic Millions. I was keen on him two back in the Brian Crowley but he was very plain. He then freshened up and went to a Midway here when wide with cover but failed to come on. His best is clearly good enough. Watch the market.

5 High Blue Sea (Bet Now: $6.00) looks to have returned in pretty good order. He resumed in a Midway two weeks ago over 1200m here when back off the speed in an on speed dominated affair but he found the line and was quite good in defeat behind Zoubaby. Fitter and up in trip, more positive ride, he takes beating.
Danger
3 Midnight Opal (Bet Now: $6.50) has found winning form and he can certainly go on with it. He got front end control at Rosehill a few weeks ago and once that eventuated, it was race over and he made an absolute mess of them in a dominant display. His confidence is up, he rates highly.
Long Shot
13 How Dare You (Bet Now: $16.00) is third up from a spell and should just about be at peak fitness. She was a horror watch first up at Canterbury before racing there again when off speed and seemed to have her chance when third but I reckon she bumped into a smart one, Winston Hills. Knockout hope.

1 Kettle Hill (Bet Now: $17.00) looks a big price here. He comes through the Saltcoats race from two weeks ago here. He got a long way out of his ground and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was quite good in defeat. If he can settle closer, get a drag into the race, he’ll be hard to hold out.
Danger
5 Saltcoats (Bet Now: $2.70) has found winning form…can he go on with it? Big win over 1800m here last time, making a sustained run from off the speed and found the line with purpose late to win and win well. Off that effort, 2000m should be fine and is one of the hardest to beat.
Long Shot
16 Ring Me Up (Bet Now: $7.00) is flying this time in for Chris Waller and rates highly. She is four weeks between runs since winning at Rosehill on very testing ground where she finished best to score in testing conditions, beating Zaphod, who came out and won last week, so the form reads well and the tick over trial was pretty good.

3 For Victory (Bet Now: $15.00) will do me in the get out. Chris Waller trained gelding that hasn’t raced since Nov 30 at Rosehill when back in the run and while he was never a winning threat, he kept finding the line and was quite good in defeat behind Ring Me Up. Tick over trial was good and although back in trip, I think he’ll be one of the strongest at the end. Each way for me.
Danger
13 Daring Downs (Bet Now: $4.40) should appreciate firmer footing after finding a bog track at Rosehill and while she wasn’t as effective, she kept on and was good in defeat behind Shangri La Spring. Firmer deck, up in trip is fine and down in the weights, she takes beating against these.
Long Shot
2 Dr Evil (Bet Now: $8.00) is racing in a mini purple patch at the moment. This guy was a super winner two back at Warwick Farm before going to the Midway here when back and held up at times but got clear and worked home strongly in defeat behind Rapt. Nash jumps back on, he’s dangerous.
