DAILY BREEZE BOYS BASKETBALL TOP 10

1. Redondo 7-0
The Sea Hawks opened Bay League play Monday night with a 79-21 win over Peninsula. They won’t return to league play until we start 2025. Until then, they will be in two big tournaments, starting Wednesday in Las Vegas in the Tarkanian Classic. They open against Rainier Beach of Seattle.
2. Inglewood 6-3
The Sentinels last week lost to Roosevelt 111-92 and defeated King/Drew 95-57. Jason Crowe Jr. scored 41 points against Roosevelt and added 28 against King/Drew. Inglewood heads to Oregon this week for the Capitol City Classic wit their first game Wednesday.
3. Mira Costa 12-0
The Mustangs remained undefeated with wins over Riverside Poly 61-49 and Salesian 93-49 last week. Bryson Bryker had 17 points and six rebounds in the win over Riverside Poly. Mira Costa hosts Wiseburn Da Vinci in a Bay League opener Saturday.
4. St. Bernard 9-3
The Vikings lost to Brophy College Prep 63-54 in the finals of the Father Barry Tournament Saturday. Josh Palmer and Caleb Versher earned all-tournament honors. St. Bernard returns to action after Christmas in the Visit Mesa Tournament in Arizona.
5. Rolling Hills Prep 9-3
The Huskies came up just short against La Habra 62-56 Saturday in a one-day showcase event at Los Alamitos. Kawika Suter and Nick Welch Jr. had 17 and 15 points, respectively. RHP will be in the Gold Division of The Classic at Damien after Christmas.
6. Bishop Montgomery 5-3
The Knights have been off for nearly two weeks. They return to action Thursday in the Mission Prep Christmas Classic, followed by the Santa Barbara Christmas Classic.
7. Leuzinger 6-3
The Olympians have won five consecutive games. They defeated St. Monica 61-60 in overtime Saturday in the Drew League No Excuse, Just Produce Showcase. Josh Garland had 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Up next is the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas.
8. Westchester 3-5
The Comets defeated North Torrance 62-38 Saturday. They’re heading to the Tarkanian Classic in Las Vegas and have a game Wednesday against Bishop Gorman.
9. Palos Verdes 6-4
The Sea Kings have been on a break since Dec. 7. They’re back in action this week and have a busy schedule: Thursday at St. Monica, Friday at South Torrance and Saturday at El Segundo.
10. Wiseburn Da Vinci 9-3
The Wolves defeated Whittier Christian 87-45 in the finals of the Calvary Chapel Downey Tournament. Jameson Johnson was tournament MVP. Canaan Rodriguez earned all-tournament honors. Bay League play opens Saturday at Mira Costa.
