1. Family travel takes the lead | Family vacations are set to dominate travel plans, with 34% of respondents intending to travel with family in 2025. Indonesians lead the way, with 58% planning multi-generational trips, while 30% of Indian travellers also prefer family holidays. 2. Relaxation tops travel motivations | A desire to relax is the primary motivator for most travellers, with 75% of respondents citing relaxation as their top reason to travel. For Indian travellers, this number is even higher at 80%. Other key motivations include visiting family and friends (38%) and cultural exploration (35%). (Image: Reuters)
3. Tech-assisted travel planning | Technology continues to shape the travel landscape, with 80% of travellers planning to use travel apps for their trips. 4. Budget-friendly travel | Cost-conscious travellers are focusing on budget options, with 65% planning to spend less than $250 (INR 21,073) per night on accommodation. In India, 70% prioritize budget when planning trips. However, international travel remains popular, with 87% of travellers planning to take as many or more trips compared to 2024, and 52% of these journeys are expected to be international. 5. Combining work and travel | Alongside traditional business trips, the survey highlights the rise of digital nomads—remote workers blending leisure with work. One in 25 travellers expects to work while traveling in 2025. The Philippines shows the highest interest in this trend, with one in fourteen travellers planning to work remotely during their trips. 6. Seeking new destinations | A majority of travellers (84%) are eager to explore new destinations in 2025. Inspiration comes from various sources, including personal hobbies (71%), great value deals (56%), and recommendations from friends and family (33%). Social media also plays a role, with 20% of respondents drawing inspiration from platforms like Instagram. 7. Theme parks will be key travel destination | Theme parks are a major draw for travellers, with 13% of respondents planning trips specifically to visit them in 2025.
