The transfer market remains closed until January but clubs are still extremely busy behind the scenes as they plan for future arrivals. Players all around the world have returned to their clubs after the international break for a pivotal period of the season, both domestically and in European competition.
Managers will be constantly assessing their squads with sporting directors and recruitment staff scanning the market for potential deals in the upcoming market. A plethora of players will be unhappy with their lack of minutes with their agents aiming to secure them a move to ensure first-team football for the second half of the season. The rumour mill is beginning to pick up pace and we’ve collated some of the biggest current transfer stories.
Mo Salah’s future has been in the headlines this week after the 32-year-old told the press that he was ‘more out than in’ at Liverpool after beating Southampton. And the Saudi Pro League view Salah as their ‘dream’ summer signing but Liverpool want to keep the Egyptian at Anfield.
According to reports in Italy, Manchester United and Manchester City have been offered the chance to sign Douglas Luiz and Nicolo Fagioli by Juventus. It’s also been reported that Juve could look to bring Joshua Zirkzee back to Serie A with the Dutch striker struggling since moving to England.
Tottenham are monitoring RB Leipzig star Lutsharel Geertruida with Pedro Porro attracting interest from Real Madrid. Chelsea could allow Mykhailo Mudryk to depart in the January window, while Marc Guehi is targeting a return to Stamford Bridge. Meanwhile, Liverpool and Arsenal have joined Aston Villa in registering an interest in Lyon winger Malick Fofana.
