RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women’s basketball team is receiving votes in the latest Associated Press (AP) Top 25 Women’s College Basketball Poll.
The Spiders are off to a 4-0 start to begin the season, the best start since 2015-16, highlighted by a 93-39 home-opening win over Morgan State on 11/9/24, and a dominating 62-39 win at Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference preseason favorite Fairfield on Nov. 12.
Through four contests, the Spiders rank eighth nationally in field-goal percentage (53.5%) and 10
th in free throw percentage (83.3%) and three-point percentage (43.3%). Richmond leads the Atlantic 10 Conference in bench points per game (31.8), field-goal percentage defense (33%), scoring defense (48.5) and scoring margin (33). Individually,
Rachel Ullstrom leads the conference in field goals (25) and free throw percentage (100%) while she is second in the A-10 in steals (13) and total points (75).
Richmond is back in action on Thursday, as the team plays host to William & Mary at 6 p.m. before traveling to Appalachian State on Nov. 24 for a matchuo against the Mountaineers at 3:30 p.m.
