Indiana continued to expand their class of 2027 offer list over the weekend.
Mike Woodson and staff formally offered Illinois-based guard Davion Thompson, he announced on his X account.
Thompson attends Bolingbrook H.S. in Bolingbrook, Ill. The 6-foot-2 lefty combo guard was incredibly efficient for his age in 2023-24. He averaged 19.2 points per game as a high school freshman while shooting 59 percent overall and 45 percent from 3-point range. Thompson added five rebounds and led his team to the sectional finals and a 27–5 record.
On film Thompson has high-level shot mechanics and gets to his spots off the bounce effortlessly. He projects to the one or two spots at the next level.
In the early class of 2027 rankings, Thompson is the No. 23 overall player according to the On3 Industry Average, and the No. 3 point guard nationally in the class.
Thompson teams with fellow Illinois-based 2027 guard Jaxon Davis on the Nike EYBL Circuit. Indiana offered Davis last week. The pair play for the Chicago-based MeanStreets program. Thompson scored 47 points on 17-19 shooting including 8-9 from three in an EYBL game in the spring. Overall Thompson posted 17.8 points per game in 24.4 minutes during EYBL games.
Indiana joins DePaul, Illinois, Iowa, Tennessee, Michigan and Wake Forest as the high major programs that have offered to this point. Some of his offers came before Thompson played his first high school game.
