Trainer Nicky Henderson and jockey Nico de Boinville have hit a great bit of form coming into this weekend, with two huge winners Hyland and Jonbon on the Friday.
They have Peaky Boy in the second race on Sunday who appeals a lot back on seasonal debut.
He beat Champagne Twist on hurdle debut, which was also his first outing for this trainer.
That form has worked out well and he went on to win again at Cheltenham, where course form here can often be crucial.
His current mark looks very workable given he beat Champagne Twist so comfortably and that horse went on to win twice to be rated 1lb lower than the tip, which means he should be able to capitalise on this weight.
He had to work a bit harder to win off odds-on in April but it’s clear this unexposed hurdler is likely to have progressed further for Seven Barrows.
Matata was beaten by Calico last time out, but only by a neck, here on both of their seasonal debuts.
That was Calico really bouncing back too having dropped down to a dangerous mark having not won since March 2023.
He was given as much as 9lb by Matata who can reverse that form in this four-runner event.
Matata was raised 3lb for that placing having also seemingly bounced back from some poorer efforts at the end of last season.
He was a close 2nd to Libberty Hunter here in January and an even closer 2nd to JPR One at Lingfield in a Grade 2 just three weeks later.
To run so close last time out carrying second top-weight he at just six years old, it really shows he’s still progressing and yet to reach his full potential as a chaser.
May well be the favourite of a big runner contest but this mare has been catching eye from her debut onwards for trainer Fergal O’Brien.
She’s been absent since January having had to bypass both Cheltenham and Aintree festival in March and April, but her form has worked out incredibly and would likely have been the favourite for those.
The manner in which she was winning in last year, especially when stepping up to face geldings and horses is one that is often to produce further winners.
She won here in December on soft ground and she’s still unbeaten under rules.
She may be 5/2 but that will still look like value by the end.
