Grant Afseth makes his DraftKings NBA Pick6 selections before Saturday night’s slate of games.
With five NBA games scheduled for Saturday’s slate, there is more than enough opportunity to take advantage of the action on DraftKings, including DraftKings NBA Pick6 selections.
After sitting out for the Mavericks’ road loss against the Jazz on Thursday, Kyrie Irving is already off the injury report and should be well-rested to take on the Spurs on Saturday. In a previous performance against San Antonio this season, he finished with only 15 points. However, he still shot it 17 times, converting at just a 35.3% clip.
Irving has scored 23 or more points in six of his 11 performances this season, with two instances where he wasn’t within two points of meeting the mark. Dallas needs to win after losing four consecutive single-possession games. Surely, he will be motivated to set the tone against a team he tends to draw drop coverage against, creating chances for him to get into his midrange bag on pull-up jumpers.
It’s been an impressive run for Spurs rookie Stephon Castle recently. He’s averaged 16.3 points and 4.8 assists over his last four games entering Saturday’s matchup against the Mavericks. San Antonio will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back, but the 20-year-old should have plenty of energy to pick up his veteran teammates if necessary.
Like the theme about Kyrie Irving’s potential performance against the Jazz, Luka Doncic will likely be motivated to help end this Mavericks team losing four consecutive close games, especially considering he was involved in a defensive breakdown against the Jazz that led to a game-winning finish at the rim for John Collins. There are many categories to consider for any Doncic performance, but assists are an intriguing option against the Spurs.
It could be a close call, though. Doncic is averaging 8.8 assists over his last five games, with the highest being 13 against the Bulls and the lowest being six versus the Warriors. He could easily finish this game with more than 8.5 if his teammates make shots. Another element to consider is that Doncic has averaged 10.5 assists in four career games against Victor Wembanyama.
Coming off a 60-point performance against the Timberwolves, De’Aaron Fox is averaging 27.3 points on the season. The Kings will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back, but without Walker Kessler in the Jazz’s lineup, Fox should have plenty of opportunity to attack the rim against John Collins playing the five. He’s had six performances with more than 27 points this season, meaning he has fewer games than not reaching that mark. Regardless, his recent play makes more than 26.5 points a solid option.
Victor Wembanyama is on an incredible run regarding perimeter shotmaking. Ever since shooting 2-of-6 against the Trail Blazers on Nov. 7, he’s averaged six made threes per game over his last four performances. He even delivered a night with eight made threes against the Wizards.
With the bar being set at 2.5 made threes against a Mavericks team that tends to give up open shots to stretch bigs, picking more seems like a favorable chance to capitalize on recent momentum if it continues. Wembanyama averages 2.9 threes per game, which almost puts him over the top for picking more in this game.
It’s been an incredible start to the season for Anthony Davis, even garnering some early MVP hype. He’s averaging 31.1 points and 10.9 rebounds through 11 games, making him a strong candidate to finish with more than the 40.5 points + rebounds he’d need for this line. He’s coming off a double-double with 40 points and 12 rebounds against the Spurs. With rookie center Yves Missi manning the middle of an undermanned New Orleans squad, Davis could punish his former team on their home floor.
Pick6 is a peer-to-peer fantasy variant where you build a lineup (your “Pick Set”) of 2+ players and select whether or not you believe each will outperform their listed stat projection. Enter your Pick Set in Pick6 contests to compete against other users. Get enough picks correct and win a share of cash prizes.
Create a Pick Set by choosing 2+ players from the same sport and Pick Group (a set of picks available from a group of set competitions). For each player, simply select if you think they’ll have more or less than their listed stat projection. In each Pick Set, you can not pick the same player twice, and you must pick players from at least two different teams.
Once you finalize your Pick Set, choose your entry fee amount. Your entries will be automatically distributed into available contests, subject to your confirmation.
When the games go live, use the My Picks tab to follow your picks in real time to track how your players are performing against their projections and how they stack up against other users.
Make enough correct picks and win a share of the contests’ guaranteed prizes. Any prizes won will be credited to your DraftKings account after contests are finalized.
